ABSTRACT

TLDR
Over the course of 10 weeks, my team and I developed "PeerCam," an interactive product designed to enhance social interactions and create lasting memories at events hosted through Peerspace. Through extensive market research and user testing, we identified key pain points: initial awkwardness at events and the desire to capture special moments.
PeerCam addresses these by offering an ice-breaking interactive game and a post-event "Event Wrapped" summary, adding both entertainment and value to the event experience. With seamless integration into Peerspace, PeerCam empowers hosts to offer a unique and engaging service, fostering connections and elevating the overall atmosphere of any event.

LOOKING BACK
Working on this project helped me grow a lot not only as a designer but as a leader. Since this was my first time as a project manager, I had a lot to learn. There were many internal ups and downs throughout the 10 weeks that allowed me to observe how people think. There will always be conflict within teams, whether big or small, and the most important thing you can do is know how to resolve it.
As UX Designers, it's important to empathize with the users and your teammates. Understanding their thought processes and ideas can help when conflicts arise. While highlighting the work and growth I had as a designer is important, I believe it is also key to showcasing the growth of one's emotional intelligence. That is what I feel as though I learned most from working on this project; overcoming conflict and learning to understand people's emotions.
